AYA is a collection that combines Indonesian craftsmanship, Belgian confection skills, and a great design aesthetic. The mix of materials and techniques makes it a fascinating set, that clearly departed from the ecological and human aspects of design.
To make sure local economy is stimulated rattan is only allowed to leave Indonesia when processed. Raw rattan materials are not allowed to leave the country.
Our frame and metal working is completed in Indonesia before shipping by container to Belgium. Once arrived at Vincent Sheppard Belgium, the confection is done were the products get assembled.
Belgian confection makes it possible to be flexible in color and textile choses of our clients.

Our focus material is Indonesian rattan.
The worlds longest and highest quality of it's kind.
Rattan vines grow quick and are sourced in tropical forests.
The use of rattan increases the economic value of the forest and helps to fight against deforestation. - MANUFACTURING (Indonesia)
Rattan is processed by local craftsmen in Cirebon, West-Java at the Indonesian factory of Vincent Sheppard.
Steaming, bending, weaving is all done here.
